3 Vintage 3-Gang Brown Bakelite Toggle Light Switch Wall Plate Covers Very Nice
I bought these over twenty years at a local Raleigh NC Estate Tag Sale. I never got around to using them for myself so I have decided to offer them up for sale at this time. I have a few other Bakelite wall plates that I will also be listing. Some match the design of this set and others are of a different style.
Included in this lot are three of the triple or three-gang toggle light switch wall plate covers. Each cover measures a little over 6 ¼” wide by about 4 ¼” high.
All are matching in both style and size and all are marked, on the back, by the manufacture with an “SE”.
Although these are vintage items I don’t believe that any of these have ever actually been installed. One of them does have some slight cloudiness at the corner and you will see a few light marks or other manor imperfections here or there but nothing that I believe really stands out and most may possible be able to be removed with just a little effort.
There are No mounting screws included.
Just as a general comment on the cleaning of Bakelite. On heaver Bakelite such as this I have had some success in the past with using an automotive one step cleaner polish. If that does not do the job you can try a little automotive polishing compound. It is slightly more abrasive but still very mild. You should follow that up with a quick wipe off using the above motioned cleaner polish and that will add a protective coating. Do not use a true rubbing compound as it may be too abrasive and scratch or dull the surface.
