    Description

    Beautifully crafted covered round butter dish with basket style handle includes four pieces: base with handle, lid with cow figure, silver plate liner base and glass liner.  The base has knife holder brackets, but no knife is included.  The piece 10 1/2" tall and is 6 3/4" wide at widest point.  Glass liner is beveled to fit into the silver liner which has geometric/clover design around the center 1/2" diameter hole. Ornate decoration above ball feet on each side. The cover has leaf and floral design etched around the base with a cow figurine on the top.  The piece is marked  (stamped) on the bottom  Meriden  & Company with a balance scale logo and the number 4957 underneath.  Additionally there has been etched or engraved on the bottom the number 9066-1.
