Modified these. The bottom stiffness ridges have been trimmed  to make them more flexible possibly causing less strain on your legs to kick the the fins.
I guess it makes them less firm to flex / bend easier when diving. Causing less fatigue and effort. I have not tried them , but possibly it's a good idea
Could use a good cleaning with scouring powder to get powdery film off them. Straps are strong. No dry rot cracking.
