    Description

    Offered for auction is a vintage victorian triple plated dome top butter dish. The lid is removeable and inside the bowl is an insert with holes where the butter would be put and ice would go under this in the bowl. This butter dish, which is about 8" high and 9" wide (end of handle to end of handle) is in nice condition for its age - no dings, dents or plate wear/loss. The legs are 2" high.  It has achieved a black patina commensurate with its age which I think adds to its attractiveness, but that's just my opinion, some would call it tarnish. It has a finial of a cherub holding a horn and there are gladiator heads on the legs and several other places. There is a leaf design etched around part of the lid. On the underside it says American Silver Plate Co, Triple Plate, #604.  Shipping will be 3 pounds priority in the US, no international please. Thanks for looking.
